Senior Design Engineer - Power Cables

Reporting into the Project Engineering Manager you will provide detailed engineering design and technical support associated with power cable design solutions to meet the customer requirements, primarily within the Renewable Energy market, commensurate with relevant national and international standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide day-to-day support and management to the design sub team.
• Provide power cable design expertise to the project design team, making crucial technical decisions in line with your experience.
• Create detailed power cable designs for projects, producing economic engineered solutions considering all aspects from materials to manufacturability, whilst satisfying all customer and internal requirements.
• Generation and checking of technical documentation (reports, technical notes, purchase specifications, calculations, drawings and client datasheets).
• Reviewing and responding to client and supplier clarifications and comments.

• Collaborative mind-set with excellent communication skills to address design issues efficiently.
• Analytical and problem-solving mentality.
• Strong accuracy and attention to detail through all aspects of the design process.
• Commitment to meeting internal and external deadlines.
• Continuous adherence to sound engineering practices.
