Due to increased project wins JDR are seeking a range of experienced and non-experienced Service Technicians to support JDR products and service globally onshore and offshore. Reporting into the Shop Supervisor you will be a candidate who is positive, conscientious and committed with a ‘can do’ attitude.
Main Duties include:
- Installation, operation, and troubleshooting of rental IWOCS equipment offshore on deployments lasting an average of 28 days.
- Interpreting and understanding both JDR and customer supplied drawings. Confirming written or verbal work instructions to the drawings and procedures as required.
- Complying with JDR termination and quality procedures, notifying both JDR and the customer in the event of any deviation from the procedure.
- Mechanical assembly of all termination parts with an understanding of limits and fits. Employing the relevant thread lock, sealant, or anti galling compounds as necessary.
- Termination of electrical connectors, cable joints, and electrical junction boxes. Proof testing of electrical umbilicals and associated terminations.
- Swaging of hydraulic and pneumatic hoses. Integration into stab plates, winches, etc. Proof testing and flushing as required.
- Ensuring that all work is carried out in an efficient and timely manner. Maintaining a professional bearing at all times and actively promoting JDR products and services to customers whenever possible.
- Assisting in the training of others and being prepared to undergo training as required.
- Ensuring that all paperwork regarding each job is completed in a timely manner so that invoicing can be completed.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Possess technical competence in an electrical or mechanical discipline. A Technical Degree would be desirable but is not essential.
- Have previous experience with Cable and Umbilical Equipment Knowledge, specific experience working with Reeler Systems would be a distinct advantage.
- Have previous experience working within a technical role.
- Show excellent communication skills and commercial awareness, and be comfortable with being the first point of contact for the customer.
- Display a high degree of positivity and flexibility in any given situation; you will be the JDR representative, sometimes in difficult and stressful environments; so where possible enhance the companies profile whilst onsite with passion and drive.
- Be willing and able to plan and accommodate varying workloads whilst being flexible in your approach to tasks; this is an ever-fluctuating environment with changing requirements. At times you will be asked to work long hours, with very basic sleeping and welfare arrangements.
- Demonstrate the ability to take on additional responsibilities which are aligned to a fast moving and changing environment as driven by the business needs and customer expectations.
It is imperative that you hold a passport, driving license and have the capability of achieving and retaining relevant offshore certification, this includes offshore training certification and full medical certification.
