Technical Bid Engineer

A Technical Bid Engineer is required for our US based team to technically and commercially support the preparation of bids and accepting customer purchase orders.

With a background in engineering, preferably within the subsea engineering, subsea umbilicals and/or subsea power cable industry, you will be critical in ensuring JDR’s bids contain accurate costing, meet customers’ technical and commercial specifications, and provide full support to the Tendering and Sales group.

Duties include:

• Supporting the receiving of inquiries and inputting into a transparent database.
• Review project specification requirements and initial design requirements to assess the feasibility and manufacturability.
• Prepare and issue bids, risk registers, and additional documents which require coordinating input from other groups.
• Work with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure that costs included in bids are technically correct and represent least cost.
• Support in receiving, reviewing, and accepting customer purchase orders and contracts.
• Supporting the issue of customer Order Acknowledgements confirming order content and delivery schedule as well as supporting the Logistics and Procurement group to ensure project delivery promises are achieved.
• Create and review sales orders, cost analysis, and participate in lessons learned.

As the successful applicant you will possess excellent communication skills, together with the ability to work calmly under pressure. The management of multiple and complex bids and other work to meet tight deadlines is a must; all whilst paying attention to detail. Clear evidence of contract and commercial knowledge gained from bids or project management is ideal with an ability to influence and collaboratively work with internal and external colleagues.
