Following an internal promotion, we are recruiting a Project Quality Engineer to provide independent and objective support to our clients. As Project Quality Engineer, it will be your responsibility to effectively manage project and supplier quality related issues as they arise; closing our corrective and preventative actions and ensuring that the development, monitoring, and improvement programmes identified, for internal projects and externally with suppliers, achieve their objectives.
Main responsibilities of the role:
- Identify and integrate contractual quality requirements into project documentation, ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory, and industry standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop the Project Quality Plan (PQP), (which includes the Supplier Quality Plan) in accordance with client project requirements, JDR policies and procedures and all applicable regulatory and industry standards, to ensure the successful delivery of the project with minimal CONQ.
- Develop the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP), in accordance with client project requirements, JDR policies and procedures and all applicable regulatory and industry standards that apply to the whole supply chain for the project, from suppliers through to JDR’s manufacture of the project to delivery; ensuring that critical quality objectives are detailed and met.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, who oversee the overall project plans, while effectively engaging with certifying authorities, third-party stakeholders, and internal departments (such as Production, Engineering, and Procurement) to address all quality-related matters and ensure compliance with agreed project quality requirements. Raise ITQs and DCRs for engineering review as necessary.
- Support and participate in Client Quality Audits and perform Supplier Quality Audits as required, addressing findings ly to ensure compliance and successful project delivery
- Maintain and analyse a Non-Conformance Report (NCR) database, identify trends, and recommend and implement corrective and preventive actions to minimize non-conformances and associated costs.
- Take full responsibility for resolving all project quality issues within the project's scope. Ensure corrective actions are implemented ly and effectively, conduct root cause analysis (RCA), and collaborate with relevant stakeholders as needed. Validate corrective actions and document lessons learned, embedding preventive measures into the project’s processes to maintain and enhance the client’s positive perception of JDR.
- Inspect client-supplied hardware and produce detailed Free Issue Reports.
- Review supplier documentation to ensure alignment with project specifications and standards.
- Regularly visit supplier sites to oversee testing and final inspections, and host clients as required to ensure satisfaction with delivered products.
As the ideal candidate you will hold at least an HNC level qualification in an engineering discipline and have experience in continuous improvement, you will make use of your relevant industry experience to demonstrate your ability to solve complex problems. You will also be required to demonstrate that you can lead by example in establishing and maintaining professional working relationships in this customer facing role.
It is imperative that you hold a valid EU passport and driving licence as there will be frequent travel associated to with this role.
